Plants per 1 foot square

When you look at the recommended plant spacing after thinning, this is the amount of space you should plant the seeds to begin with.  The spaces are usually 2, 3, 4, etc inches apart.  The chart below will tell how many plants per square based on the spacing in inches.  You will have an equal number of rows and columns in each square (indicated by # Col/Row).

Plant Spacing # Col/Row # Plants
2 6 36
3 4 16
4 3 9
6 2 4
12 1 1
