Mowing Grass

Keep grass at a height of 2.5 to 3 inches.
Mow when the grass is 1/3 its recommended height.  Cutting the grass by more than half its height at once weakens it.
Mow when the grass is dry.
Mow in a different direction each time.  This prevents soil compaction and helps the grass grow upright.
Leave clippings if they are not too long or piled up in small mounds.
